Well, as I observe, men and women believe that in a basketball game, the more you score, the more manly you become. I remember how my mom thought how hot dad was when she was cheering for him in a basketball game. Well, I don’t require Marlon to gather great score, but at least, he knows how to dribble. haha. ü

Okay, boys, I do mean a literal fire here, um kay? Hahaha. Well, do you still remember how your Boy Scout leader taught you how to build a fire from small twigs to a large piece of wood? Well, some people believe that the stronger the fire you created, the more masculine and manly you become. Well, arranging pieces of wood is also a fire-building skill, guys should take note of that. And if I say fire, I mean a literal one. Lol.
8. Tie and Untie a Tie
It’s prom night, and of course, as an impresser, you’ll wear the best suit you have, along with the suit is a neck tie that is most of the time, a major pain-in-the-ass for some men. Some men don’t know how to tie their neckties. And as a big man, you don’t expect someone to do small things for you, do you? And in some way, it is one of my undisclosed (now disclosed) ways of determining if one’s organized or not.
7. Know a Card Game
IMO, magic card games impress kids, whereas gambling or casino card games impress ladies. I have this idea that women enjoy cheering their men most especially when they are in a game. In most movies I’ve seen, men who play in a casino usually are accompanied with hot women. Well, in this case, women would feel they are needed.
6. Car Savvy
I believe that men’s second girlfriends are their cars. A woman is more likely to assume that her man knows how every-what of his cars. Megan Fox as Mikaela in Transformers appears so exclusive and damn sexy as she portrays a woman who’s a car savvy. Well then, to a man, being a car savvy should be customary.
5. Own an Extreme Sport
To put it simply, it is expected that the more you participate in extreme sport activities, the more mannish you become. I have never seen a gay play skateboard; there are a number of girls though. ü

Guess, I’m gonna change what we have been traditionally saying about men’s heart. Now, let’s say… that a way to woman’s heart is through her stomach! Agree? ü

On Being a Pescetarian . . .

I miss my cat, Shopao. We shared the same bed for like five years. Sorrowfully, one day; she was nowhere to be found. Came to my horrifying belief was that she was slaughtered by strangers passing by our house.  Hilarious paranoia, I guess, but that time, I felt bad for missing her.

Pescetarian Diet.

If a domestic cat did mean to me a lot, it doesn’t mean that I care less for any other pets or animals around.  In fact, I always declare myself as an animal lover. Hence, when I say animal lover, I mean a sure thing, and that would include domestic, wild, exotic, and even EDIBLE animals. Well, ethically, every God’s creation should be treated reasonably.

In this regard, I remember how my parents taught me to respect every creature because they are God-given. In factI did, and I still do. Since I was a child, I’ve learned not slay any animals nor destroy any plants present in our backyard. I would always remind myself that even the tiniest being is given by God, and I am not sanctioned to take its life away. But the learning is not sufficient because, I realized, that all this time, I still am not able to apply one of the ethic rules, “Thou shall not kill”.

Refrain from slaughtering these animals!

How many cows have I killed? How many chickens have I eaten? I stand guilty. I know, I am. I am a murderer. But nobody hasn’t arrested me yet – for the very reason that it has become a habit to every citizen in a society. Some religion does not allow any member to eat meat, for some, it’s sacred, and for some, it’s unethical.  Darn then… for I have been so unethical, all these years! I feel sorry for those cows and chickens slaughtered for me to consume.

Why and how did these views come up?  Yesterday, I had a small conversation with a vegetarian. He revealed a cluster of reasons why he opted to be one. He is very conversant when it comes to being a vegetarian. His reasons for being one sound convincing, believable and moving. Believe me, I truly am moved.

I did some researches about how can one lose weight in just a month or two. And as what I’ve been hearing from usual hearsays, they tell me not to eat fatty foods ~ that I have to avoid pork, beef, red meat and any similar chow. And I seriously said to myself that I’m not going to succeed a diet without these dishes. But as I research more over the internet about dieting and stuff, I figured out that there are these groups from Facebook who are actually pescetarians. Hackett (2009) defines Pescetarians as “those who abstain from eating all meat and animal flesh with the exception of fish.”

These groups don’t eat red meat, which are very detrimental to our health. I decided to join them, I decided to be one of the pescetarians, I would not eat animal flesh except of fish ~ that I then swore to myself yesterday. Served sea foods are okay, veggies are very well acceptable, refrained consumption of dairy products is okay too, eating fish is highly tolerable – the conditions of being a pescetarian.

You maybe would want to ask me, “Fish is an animal too, why still consume them?” Well, thank you very much for your question, well, here’s my answer. Being a pescetarian is actually a good step on becoming a vegetarian. I am not asserting to be a vegetarian though, but who knows? Well, as the saying goes, “You can’t rush art” or in layman’s term, take it one step at a time.

Aside from the good health does being a pescetarian provide, it is also an environmentally friendly way of life. I must admit… I still am killing fish, but at least, I’m giving it a try to be less misdemeanor one step at a time.

I am still missing Shopao, one of the few that convinced me to cease eating meat. Hence, I have to be more compassionate… If yesterday I have learned to stop eating meat and poultry, who knows? Maybe tomorrow or the other day, I might stop eating fish as well. That day, I might rename and edit this blog, from “On Being a Pescetarian” to “A Well-become Vegetarian”. Oh, God knows.
